At the age of five i had a near death experience that has shaped my life. It was a beautiful experience that left me fearless and intrigued about the mystery of death and dying. The very first time i heard the word hospice and learned what it was about, i knew it was my destiny to be part of this amazing work. I began my study of hospice while obtaining my bachelor of science degree in nursing around the late 70’s in northern california. I had the good fortune of studying with Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and Steven Levine. I have been involved with hospice for close to 35 years and it is my privilege to share my story and the stories of the people it has been my privilege to serve.
